Harvard’s commitment to health policy is evident in the number of faculty and students interested in this critical area of social policy and the breadth of their activities across the University. These activities encompass virtually every discipline and field that could contribute to health policy, from biomedical research to health care management and everything in between, and involve the Faculties of Arts and Sciences, Business, Law, Government, Medicine and Public Health.

This website is designed to provide access to all of Harvard’s resources in health policy with links to websites for faculty members, academic departments, academic centers and educational programs including the Interfaculty Initiative in Health Policy, established in 1992 to draw on this scholarly talent to create a University-wide Ph.D. program in health policy and a certificate program for undergraduate students. The Interfaculty Initiative was expanded in 2001 to include the Program for Health Systems Improvement as a vehicle for increasing faculty collaboration in research and convening, and for having an impact beyond the University. The site also includes access to recent health policy publications as part of a new online library.

We hope this website will serve as a tool for visitors interested in exploring Harvard’s capabilities and opportunities in health policy, and as a resource for those at Harvard interested in learning more about the work and accomplishments of other faculty and students.
